The head of Zaporizhzhya Regional Council, Hryhorii Samardak, was diagnosed with the COVID—19 disease, the Council’s press service reported.

It has been confirmed by the laboratory that he is sick with COVID-19. Currently, the head of the Regional Council is at home under the supervision of his family doctor. His family has self-isolated,” the message reads.

Samardak appealed to all residents of the region asking to respond responsibly to the quarantine measures taken in the country and in the region.

According to Zaporizhzhya Regional Laboratory Center, as of 11:00 a.m. on March 30, there were 13 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 disease: 9 infected in Zaporizhzhya, 1 in Berdyansk, 2 in Melitopol, and 1 in the Melitopol district.
