The highly—anticipated bridge connecting the government—controlled and occupied parts of Ukraine's Luhansk region has now been rebuilt, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The highly-anticipated bridge connecting the government-controlled and occupied parts of Ukraine's Luhansk region has now been rebuilt, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Its opening is planned before November 23.

The reconstruction of the bridge across the Siverskyi Donets river was one of the international obligations requested from Ukraine in order to improve the humanitarian situation near the demarcation line.

The bridge was ruined as a result of an explosion at the start of the war between Ukraine and Russia-led separatists in the east of Ukraine. The war, which started in February 2014, has already killed over 13,000 people.
