The EuroMaidan protests were kicked off on Nov. 30, 2013 when former President Viktor Yanukovych failed to sign an association agreement with the European Union. The protest was turned into a tent camp and in December 2013 a Revolution. The centre of Kyiv was barricaded by the protesters to ward off any advancing police activity. These home-made barricades represented safety and security for many in the tent city. This video shows how the police brought down one of those barricades in central Kyiv.
