Unsuccessful Russian assaults on three axes, partial success in Donetsk Oblast — General Staff update

The assaults of the occupying troops in Kherson Oblast, as well as on the Slovyansk and Bakhmut axes ended unsuccessfully. At the same time, another assault on Donetsk Oblast brought the Russians partial success, reads the morning summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 a.m. on July 28.

The invading troops are focusing on establishing full control over the Luhansk and Donetsk oblats, maintaining the captured parts of Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv oblasts, creating favorable conditions for resuming the offensive on certain axes, as well as blocking Ukraine's maritime communications in the Black Sea.

The combat, numerical composition and nature of the Russians' actions remain without significant changes. The occupiers continue to carry out air and missile strikes, including from the territory of Belarus.

On the Volyn and Polissya axes, the engineering equipment of the positions of the units that have arrived for rotation continues. To establish the positions of Ukrainian troops, expose the air defense system, and control the camouflage of its units, the enemy conducts aerial reconnaissance from drones.

On the Siverskyi axis, the Federal Security Service of Russia is intensifying counter-intelligence measures in the areas bordering Ukraine. The enemy carried out artillery fire near Mykolaivka in Chernihiv Oblast and Tovstodubove and Ryasne in Sumy Oblast.

On the Kharkiv axis, artillery shelling was recorded in the districts of Kharkiv and a number of other settlements. The enemy launched an airstrike near Ruski Tyshki. To establish the position of Ukrainian troops and adjust the fire, it conducted aerial reconnaissance from drones.

On the Slovyansk axis, in order to find weak points in the defense of Ukrainian units, the occupiers unsuccessfully launched an assault in the directions of Dovhenke — Mazanivka and Pasika — Dolyna. Artillery shelling from the Russians took place in the areas of Andriyivka, Nortsivka, Bohorodychne, Chepil, Velyka Komyshuvaha, Petrivske and Husarivka settlements.

The enemy did not conduct active operations on the Kramatorsk axis. Russian troops shelled the districts of Zakitne, Verkhnyokamyanske and Tetyanivka with artillery. An airstrike near Serebryanka was recorded.

On the Bakhmut axis, the enemy is trying to improve the tactical position, but the assault on the Klynove - Bakhmut and Myronivskyi - Semyhirya directions was repelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the occupiers were forced to retreat. The enemy had partial success in the direction of Vidrodzhennia — Vershyna, and is entrenched southeast of the latter. The attempt to advance in the directions Volodymyrivka — Soledar and Striapivka — Soledar ended in failure for the occupiers.

The enemy launched artillery fire in the areas of seven settlements on this axis. Airstrikes near Yakovlivka, Pokrovske and Soledar were observed.

The enemy did not conduct active operations on the Avdiyivka, Novopavlivske, and Zaporizhzhya axes. To strengthen the grouping of troops on the Zaporizhzhia axis, additional units are being deployed.

In the areas of a number of settlements, the occupiers conducted artillery fire. The Russians used aviation near Avdiyivka, Maryinka, Pavlivka, Kamianske and Mali Shcherbaky.

On the Pivdennyi Buh axis, the enemy is concentrating on holding the occupied lines and returning the lost positions on the Kryvyi Rih axis. The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled the assault in the direction of Bruskynske — Bilohirka in Kherson Oblast. The occupiers suffered losses and withdrew.

In order to restrain our actions, the enemy is shelling the areas of nine settlements from cannon artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and tanks. An airstrike near Novopetrivka was recorded.

In the waters of the Black Sea, there are three Kalibr sea-based cruise missile carriers outside the base points.
