Successes of the Armed Forces
During this week, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainian intelligence achieved strong results in destroying the logistics of the Russian army and their rear bases, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
Overall, according to the President, the Ukrainian military has already liberated 1,060 settlements from the Russian occupiers. Most of them require significant restoration work, demining, and construction of social infrastructure.
Criticism of Amnesty for ignoring the shelling of the ZNPP
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the human rights organization Amnesty International, which did not officially react to the shelling of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant by Russian troops.
"A very eloquent silence, which once again indicates the manipulative cherry-picking of this organization," Zelenskyy said.
Evacuation from Donetsk Oblast
During the first five days of the mandatory evacuation of people from Donetsk Oblast, it was possible to take out almost 2,000 people, including 385 children and 102 people with reduced mobility, said the head of the Ministry of Reintegration, Iryna Vereshchuk.
The official assured that people will be helped to register for evacuation, go to the meeting point, be transported to their place of residence, etc. Currently, people are offered to move to Kirovohrad, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr oblasts and their regional centers.
Combat operations on the southern front
The command reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the southern front on August 6 destroyed 72 occupiers and a number of units of Russian military equipment, including 4 S-300 systems. At the same time, Russians tried to conduct assaults, but they did not succeed and retreated with losses.
