Ukraine Reports First Coronavirus Case

The first coronavirus case has been registered in Chernivtsi, western Ukraine, the health ministry reported.

According to the deputy minister of healthcare, Viktor Lyashko, a man who travelled to Italy with his wife and recently returned to Ukraine noticed coronavirus symptoms two days after his return.

The couple reportedly self-isolated straight after coming back to Ukraine.

This is the first case of coronavirus in Ukraine. Previously, four Ukrainian crew members at the Diamond Princess cruiseliner and one Ukrainian woman in Italy got diagnosed with the virus.

The Chinese city of Wuhan is known to be the epicenter of the deadly coronavirus that infected 90,360 people worldwide, according to latest stats. Italy has soon become to be known as the European coronavirus epicenter with 2,036 known cases.
