13 March, 2020

Within 48 hours, Ukraine will close the borders for foreigners for two weeks to stem the spread of the coronavirus.

This was announced by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov at a briefing.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs should warn all institutions and countries that Ukraine is closing the border for foreign nationals.

"We will decide on our next steps at the NSDC meeting in two weeks, depending on how the situation unfolds," Danilov added.

At the same time, Ukrainian citizens are advised to refrain from travelling abroad, if possible.
