The agreement between an American consulting firm and Ukrainian opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko, which many thought would be used to help win her presidency in 2019, is no longer valid. Signed on February 20, 2018, the contract was terminated on May 11.

This was stated in a document belonging to the register of the U.S. Department of Justice, adding that Avenue Strategies did not “engage in political or other activities.”

Back in March, Tymoshenko denied that Two Paths LLC acted on her behalf and said that she didn’t hire Avenue Strategies. But Barry Bennett, a partner at Avenue Strategies and a senior adviser to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, announced that his company will deal with Tymoshenko’s lobbying interests in the United States.

At the same time, Avenue Strategies employees George Birnbaum and Vlada Galan, who specialize in developing campaign strategies, were seen in Kyiv.
