Successes of Ukrainians in south, explosions in Mykolaiv, preparing for referendum in Melitopol: last night's highlights

In Mykolaiv during the air raid, approximately ten powerful explosions sounded, the Armed Forces in the south destroyed 36 occupiers, two Pantsir-S1 systems and other equipment, and in Melitopol the Russian invaders began preparations for a "referendum".  Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.

Successes of the Armed Forces in the south

Ukrainian attack aircraft twice hit the stronghold and ammunition supply point of the occupiers, as well as the area where Russian manpower, weapons and equipment were concentrated near Blahodatne and Davydiv Brid in Kherson Oblast, reported Operational Command "South".  They added that the losses of the Russian occupying troops for the day amounted to:

  • 36 military personnel;
  • 2 self-propelled anti-aircraft missile and gun systems Pantsir-S1;
  • 3 command liaison vehicles;
  • one Podlet radar station;
  • 11 units of armored and automotive equipment.

Explosions in Mykolaiv

On the night of July 18, approximately ten powerful explosions thundered in Mykolaiv during an air raid. The air alert lasted from 03:06 to 03:36 a.m. in the city, said Mayor Senkevych who reported the explosions. He urged people not to ignore safety rules.

Shelling of a village in Kharkiv Oblast

In the evening of July 17, the Russian occupying forces shelled the village of Pechenihy in Kharkiv Oblast. As a result, according to early reports, one man died and another was injured, said Pechenihy village head Oleksandr Husarov.

He noted that shelling could happen again "at any moment" and urged residents to be cautious and stay close to shelters or secure places of protection.

All the bodies of An-12 crew members were found in Greece

In Greece, the operation to recover all eight bodies was completed at the crash site of the Ukrainian An-12 cargo plane. They were sent to the Komotini hospital for a forensic examination.

According to the mass media, later the bodies of the dead will be handed over to diplomatic representatives of Ukraine in Greece. Ammunition disposal specialists have now started working at the disaster site.

Preparations for a"referendum" in Melitopol

In the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, Russian occupying authorities began preparations for a "referendum". They plan to hold it in early September, and they want to deport pro-Ukrainian residents, according to the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov.

Ukrainian army strikes the deep rear of Luhansk Oblast

The Ukrainian military struck the deep rear of occupied Luhansk Oblast, as a result of which Russians lost several warehouses and a command center. Due to this, the number of shelling on the front by the Russians decreased. This was announced by the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Hayday.

Shelling of Bakhmut district

Russian occupying forces shelled the town of Soledar and the village of Yahidne in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk Oblast on July 17.  As a result, six civilians were injured, including three minors, reported the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office.
