Security Service of Ukraine neutralized Russia SRG, which was going to shoot down a passenger plane and blame Ukraine

Security Service of Ukraine neutralized Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group, which was going to shoot down a passenger plane over the territory of Russia or Belarus with Stinger and blame Ukraine for it

The Security Service of Ukraine reported on a multi-stage special operation, during which a "deeply secretive enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group" was neutralized. According to the Service, agents of the Russian Armed Forces were preparing a terrorist attack: they planned to shoot down a passenger plane over the territory of Russia or Belarus, reports the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).

SSU also says the attackers wanted to fire on a civilian plane from the man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS) Stinger and unjustifiably accuse of attacking the aircraft Ukraine and its partners.

To steal and smuggle foreign MANPADS abroad, representatives of the Russian special services gave a task to their intelligence group.

According to the SSU, the enemy SRG consisted of two people with dual citizenship and an accomplice they had recruited. Their activities were coordinated by Russian Alexander Tyuterev, who is a staff member of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the RF (still known as GRU) and has the call sign "Marine." He previously took part in organizing a series of terrorist attacks in Odesa Oblast, for which he is wanted.

According to Tyuterev's task, Russian agents tried to establish contacts with representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the guise of patriotic volunteers. And in order to form "trusting" relations, they provided the Ukrainian military with reliable information on the positions and movements of the "Kadyrovites" occupying units. After that, the Russian agents planned to use the established contacts to receive and transfer Stinger to Russia.

At the same time, the SSU reports on a "significant level of degradation" of the Russian intelligence services. For example, "Marine" lied to his leadership about his successes in Ukraine and ordered the SRG, which was under his control, to falsify a terrorist attack in the rear of Ukraine. SRG was also preparing staged photos and videos about the alleged "attack on the Territorial Defense Forces checkpoint."

So far, the SSU has detained all members of SRG. Investigative and operational actions are underway to establish all the circumstances and bring the group to justice.
