President Zelenskyy Calls on Putin to Free 24 Ukrainian Sailors

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to free and return 24 Ukrainian sailors to their homeland. Zelenskyy said this during his press briefing.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to free and return 24 Ukrainian sailors to their homeland. Zelenskyy said this during his press briefing.

"I want to address the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. All of us have children. Please return the children to their parents," Zelenskyy said on June 27.

The seamen were arrested on November 25, 2018, during the transfer from Odesa to Mariupol on the Azov Sea. Three Ukrainian ships were seized by Russian forces and 24 sailors aboard were arrested, including two employees of Ukraine’s Security Service, SBU.
