Peter Wagner: EU is into a Long-Term Relationship with Ukrainian Society

Head of Support Group for Ukraine at the European Commission Peter Wagner talks to Hromadske about the relationship between Europe and Ukraine and how the European Union views the Ukrainian presidential election process so far.

We are into a long-term relationship in our support to the country, in support of society, not of individual politicians or events. 

"There is a lot of resilience in Ukraine, which has to be further built in order  to withstand the aggression,"  Wagner noted.

It is something from which the EU is benefitting because there is no European resilience without having Ukrainian resilience.

He also emphasized the importance to the European Commission that Ukraine holds a fair and transparent election also in the second round of the presidential elections, and later in the parliamentary elections.
