Hundreds Of Refugees Strike to Demand Passage Through Hungary
20 September, 2015

A few hundred of refugees from Syria started a sitdown strike on a checkpoint between the Serbian town of Horgoš and Hungarian Röszke, says Hromadske's Angelina Kariakina, which is currently on the ground among the refugees. People demand to allow them to transit through Hungary and refuse to take food and water from Hungarian authorities.

A new law that aims to stop the flow of refugees into the country has recently been adopted. Hungary closed the border with Serbia for refugees and started to register migrants.

According to the Hungarian government spokesman Zoltán Kovács, asylum requests will be considered at official transit points.
