Explosions in Crimea

On the evening of August 18, a series of explosions rang out in Russia's Belgorod Oblast and in the occupied Crimea. First came the reports of a fire in Belgorod Oblast. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that a warehouse with ammunition caught fire in the area of ​​the village of Timonovo, Belgorod Oblast of the Russian Federation.

In occupied Crimea, explosions sounded in Kerch. Local residents reported the sounds of explosions and flashes in the sky. Vladimir Rogov, the so-called member of the main council of the "military-civilian administration of Zaporizhzhia Oblast", claimed that a drone was shot down near Kerch.

The Telegram channels of Sevastopol reported the sounds of explosions in all areas of the city, as well as explosions in the vicinity of the occupiers' military airfield in Belbek. The "governor" of occupied Sevastopol said that an unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down in the Belbek airport area, and there were no casualties.

Successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south destroyed more than 70 Russians, three tanks and an ammunition depot. The Ukrainian units also carried out offensive operations twice in one day, the Operational Command "South" reported.

Also, the Ukrainian aviation carried out four strikes on clusters of manpower, weapons and equipment of the Russian occupying forces in the Bashtanka district of Mykolaiv Oblast and the Beryslav district in Kherson Oblast.

New military aid

Estonia will give Ukraine another package of military aid — more weapons, including mortars and anti-tank weapons.

The Joe Biden administration is preparing to allocate about $800 million in additional military aid to Ukraine and may announce it as early as August 19, Reuters reported.

The law on the moratorium on tariff hikes

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed the bill on a moratorium on tariff increases in the natural gas market and in the field of heating supply into law.
