Dalia Grybauskaite, President of Lithuania
I think the necessity to cooperate between Ukraine and Lithuania stays in the future because of a lot of geopolitical challenges. We do have an aggressive neighbor, and we understand this. Our support and cooperation is necessary for both countries.
Do you see an increase in the cooperation in the military area?
Yes, it is already going. It is already going. I’m happy that our people are exchanging experiences. Our experts are with your military and we are also learning from your country how to defend a country.
What would say to the countries of Eastern Europe, which are somewhat disappointed with all the processes, which are currently taking place in the entire Europe?
I think that it’s not about disappointment. It’s about internal reforms. As long as Ukraine and Eastern European countries will be able to do the reforms and changing themselves to be more pro-European, more European, more transparent, cleaner from corruption--then more possibilities and chances we will have to help, and Europe will be able to help these countries including Ukraine.
