What You Need To Know:

✓ Russia is an aggressor, leading an illegal and immoral war in Ukraine
✓ Nationality and allegiance don't matter at the Mikheil Saakashvili's team, only effectiveness
✓ Russia is going to change, it's not a democracy, but it'll be
✓ 'I want Ukraine to be in the EU...  It's going to be huge mental change for the people in the region."

Maria Gaidar, Deputy Governor of the Odessa region and Russian opposition leader, spoke with Hromadske regarding her recent controversial appointment by Mikheil Saakashvili, the war, and Ukrainian future.

"Ukraine is the project of my life now", said Gaidar, though at the same time she stated that she has family, property, "and other circumstances that go together with a citizenship" in Russia.

Giving a firm answer on the matter she told Hromadske, "There's a war between Ukraine & Russia, that's absolutely clear. This war is illegal, immoral and Russia is an aggressor", then also adding that, "Crimea is definitely Ukrainian".

Gaidar sees Ukrainian future in Europe and thinks joining the EU will have a profound effect not only on Ukraine, but on the whole region.
