Rising LGBT Attacks Put Ukraine Police To The Test
6 November, 2014

A group of men shouting anti-gay slurs caused a fire at Kyiv's oldest theater, the Zhovten (October), during the screening of an LGBT film on Wednesday, Oct. 29, according to media reports and eyewitnesses. It remains unclear whether the fire was part of an ongoing land-dispute, or if it was purely an act of malice against the gay community. Regardless, it is essential that the Ukrainian police conduct a thorough investigation into that evenings events, argues Maxim Eristavi, the host of this week's Sunday Show.
