Who Is Evhenii Panov, The Ukrainian Arrested By FSB in Crimea?

Evhenii Panov was arrested by the Russian FSB in Crimea.

Evhenii Panov, a driver at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, was arrested by the Russian FSB in Crimea in August 2016. Between August 2014 and August 2015, Panov was fighting in the ATO area in Eastern Ukraine.

Together with friends and colleagues, Panov directed much of his energy to “Defenders of Ukraine,” an organization he established that provides humanitarian aid and food to soldiers on the frontlines and demobilized ATO participants. “Crimea wasn’t an issue,” says his brother Igor Kotelianets. “As he is an ATO participant he understands that he has an entry ban to Crimea. The FSB has all the lists. If he even could get in there…What would be the sense?”

Hromadske’s Nataliya Gumenyuk spoke to Igor Kotelianets, brother of Evgenii Panov arrested by the FSB in Crimea, on August 11th, 2016 in Kyiv.
