No State, Just Volunteers In East Ukraine Relief Efforts - Russian Volunteer
16 March, 2015
While there are some traces of the Ukrainian government in relief efforts in eastern Ukraine, the vast majority of aid relief is coordinated entirely by volunteers, said Viktoria Ivleva, a Russian volunteer and photographer. Ivleva works with a group of Ukrainian volunteers from Kharkiv that help evacuate people from rebel-held areas to government controlled areas. Their efforts are financed by donations from across Ukraine and Russia. Hromadske International's Ian Bateson and Nataliya Gumenyuk spoke with Ivleva on Sunday, March 15, 2015.
