MH17 Kyiv Requiem. A Year After

The Liatoshynskyi Classic Music Ensemble performers together with the Dutch conductor Jeroen Weierink commemorate victims of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crash by performing Mozart's Requiem on a pipe organ today at the National Hall of Organ and Chamber Music of Ukraine in Kyiv.

Many officials are attending the ceremony, including ambassadors of Australia, Malaysia, Germany, USA, Estonia; OSCE, EU representatives and other international organisations. There are also Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, PM Arsenii Yatseniuk and other Ukrainian politicians. Still, most of the people are diplomats.

Kees Klompenhouwer, the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Ukraine, started his speech in Ukrainian and spoke about crash victims from Australia, Belgium, Germany, Indonesia, New Zealand, Canada, USA. He thanked Ukrainian citizens for compassion and flowers Ukrainians brought to the Dutch Embassy today. He also commemorated Ukrainians that had lost their lives in the war.
